A Bloomington native, Giff packed up and moved away from Indiana in 2001 to pursue an opportunity to become a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. But even as one of the nation's top weightlifters, Giff often found himself pondering aloud about campus ministry in Bloomington.
In 2008, Giff left Colorado and headed back to Bloomington, and thus theCanvas was born.
Most days you'll find Giff at the Pourhouse drinking coffee and chatting with any number of the 99.9% of the population of Bloomington that he knows on a first-name basis.
Giff loves walking alongside others as they journey with God. He loves talking about loose spiritual analogies. Though he will flatly deny it, he loves any opportunity to wear a sleeveless shirt. He does not like cats.
Giff is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He is currently halfway home on a Masters degree in Spiritual Formation and Leadership from Spring Arbor University.
Most importantly, Giff is engaged to Lilly Agler (too late ladies). The couple will be happily united in marital bliss in July of 2010.
